Planetary Loop
A downloadable loop
PLANETARY LOOP is a trifold solo journaling game about traveling across five planets towards the center of your solar system, known as the Eye, to try to intervene with the end of everything.
You will die. The system will reset, and you will explore it again until you finally manage a race to the center.
To play, you will need:
- A journal
- A d6
- A deck of playing cards with the Jokers removed
- A variety of small objects to serve as tokens
Inspired by Outer Wilds and No Man's Sky.

Great concept!
I took rather detailed notes on a successful playthrough (as in, I pushed through to the end):
Number of explored locations and new cards unlocked:
Thoughts on reducing the grind to the end:
General thoughts:
The prompts unlock a lot of interesting ideas! I like the way the player returns to familiar areas but discovers new things and different perspectives.
Do you think you'd ever add more community copies?
This game is SOOO GOOD!
It's only the 2nd RPG I've played thru to it's written end condition & the solo game i've spent the second longest time playing.
Anyone who finishes Outer Wilds knows the worst thing about it is the craving for more, and this might just be one of the few things I've seen that can satisfy that craving. Awesome work!
I love the concept! The prompts tables (The Atlas) seems to work very well as an oracle as each planet (pile) feels very unique. Would you say that certains decissions during gameplay favours the best ending or it goes completly on the luck of the journey?
Hey there! So to me, the tokens are initially just ways to extend your run until your ending run, and to allow runs that have that Outer Wilds feel of being short or long depending on how things go.
I did want some ending variability. I wanted to encourage people to explore and look even on their last run, but to have the ability to skip certain planets (or all planets, if they were okay with a worse ending) if they wanted as they moved further in the game—sort of like being able to speed through a planet because you know it so well!
